A total of 44,707 students responded to StudentSurvey.ie 2020, which represents a national response rate of 31%. This surpassed the response rate of 29% in 2019 by over 4,000 students, and is the highest response rate to StudentSurvey.ie to date.
The respondents consist of 21,873 first year undergraduate students, 14,131 final year undergraduate students and 8,703 taught postgraduate students. The profile of the StudentSurvey.ie respondents tends to closely match the national student population profile.
It is heartening to see the response rate increase every year. It indicates greater engagement with the survey by students, and that you see participating in the survey as something worth doing.
Soon we will turn our energies to analysing the results and understanding what the 44,707 students who responded have to say, in order for the student voice to make a real impact in all participating institutions.
Go raibh míle míle maith agaibh!
Each participating institution will receive the results for their own students in early May and will start sharing those results with staff, student representatives and students thereafter.
The national results will be compiled in a report due for publication in October/ November 2020 as part of a joint event with Quality and Qualifications Ireland, and more information about this event will be released in due course.
The results will also be shared through the StudentSurvey.ie website and social media in the coming months.
So watch this space!
