They choose LYIT because of our unique ethos that harnesses academic excellence with career-focused practical experience. It’s an approach that positions our students for future success in line with their aspirations. We also foster close relationships with the wider local community. Our engagement and partnerships with indigenous and international businesses leaders strengthens our student’s prospects in tandem with the prosperity of the region’s economy.
Survey Live: 17 February – 6 March 2020
Each participating institution selects a specific three-week period during February and March to open the survey for their students. This allows the national survey to take account of local events and other demands on students’ time in order to increase the benefit of the survey at local level – “national survey, local impact“.

Most impactful use of the survey data for LyIT
#Fresher6 is an Extended Induction Programme that has been developed in response to feedback received from the StudentSurvey.ie and LYIT’s Admissions De-Registration Report Data 2017/18. #Fresher6 is a six week Extended Induction Programme designed to support first years making the transition to third level education. Each week is themed to support a different aspect of transitioning to higher education. Some of the weekly themes include advice on financing the third-level journey; information and advice on what to do if you'd like to transfer internally to alternative course and information on the Support Services available at LYIT.
#Fresher6 has been designed to support students on both LYIT campuses and students who study remotely by utilising digital technology, social media and internal audio/visual communication platforms. #Fresher6 combines virtual and physical/on-site activities with its purpose to reach all first year students in every medium/platform available to the institution.
