National Reports

There are two surveys that run as part of the StudentSurvey.ie project:

A taught survey, issued to first year undergraduates, final year undergraduates and taught postgraduates. This survey was updated over the course of 2023-2025 and a new questionnaire is in place for 2026. Reports from the survey that ran up to and including 2023 are available as follows:

A PGR (postgraduate research) survey, issued to masters research and doctoral students. This survey runs on a biennial basis. The most recent national reports are available here:

Qualitative Data Analysis Projects 2021-2023

The StudentSurvey.ie Steering Group funded five research bursaries in during 2021 and 2023 to analyse the qualitative data generated by StudentSurvey.ie and PGR StudentSurvey.ie. The aim of the bursary awards was to promote greater ownership and encourage wider use of the StudentSurvey.ie and PGR StudentSurvey.ie data. Proposals for the analysis of the qualitative data were invited from members of the research community within the participating institutions, as well as commercial data analysis companies.

Each project is an independent project undertaken by qualified and experienced researchers on behalf of StudentSurvey.ie. Each project took a unique approach. The commonalities between all five projects are that they all utilised well-grounded methodologies, offer mechanisms for replication of the analysis in future years, and are innovative and authentic.
