At MIC we find the most effective method of StudentSurvey.ie promotion is promotion in lectures. With the cooperation of lecturers, we speak to students about StudentSurvey.ie at the end of lectures and get them to commence the survey.
We also find that a weekly prize draw acts as an incentive to complete the survey. Prizes include vouchers for the college canteen, vouchers for the MISU Siopa and StudentSurvey.ie merchandise.
The MIC Quality Office liaises with course directors and lecturers to further promote the survey among groups that tend to have low rates of participation such as students on work placement and postgraduate students that attend college at weekends or participate in blended programmes.
StudentSurvey.ie Pop Up stands in areas of high student traffic help to raise awareness of StudentSurvey.ie.
SMS messages mid-week work well as a reminder to complete the survey. Analysis of response rates over time indicate spikes in responses when messages are sent.
